Franklin papers, 1869-1935 (bulk 1885-1900).

Correspondence and manuscripts concerning the Franklin and Wildman families and their life chiefly from 1885 to 1900. Includes correspondence between brothers Selim and Abe Franklin concerning their business interests and families; correspondence from Perry Wildman, Silver King, Pinal, and Tempe merchant, to his daughter Eliza, wife of Abe Franklin; and letters from Abe to Eliza. Typescript manuscripts by Abe are reminiscences about early Tucson history and Graham County pioneers. These reminiscences describe experiences with John Ringo, and the cattle, banking and mercantile businesses in the 1870s while Abe was working for L.M. Jacobs & Co. in Safford.

Pioneer Tucsonans; brothers Abraham and Selim came to Tucson in 1876 to join their uncles, Lionel and Barron Jacobs, in their mercantile and banking business. A.M. Franklin was a supervisor of Graham County and a commissioner of immigration in Maricopa County. Selim Franklin was a lawyer, Deputy District Attorney for Pima County, member of the 13th territorial legislative assembly, and author of the bill that created the University of Arizona.
